Thread Plus is twice as strong but not twice as thick as a standard general purpose thread - so you can use your same needle. Ideal for stress seams - tailoring, buttonholes, light leather OR, in this case bag making.

Perfect for stitching all manner of bag projects as the thread is strong enough to stitch through and secure multiple layers but not so thick as to damage your fabric.

Thread Plus is manufactured in such a way that there is a polyester filament running through the centre of the thread which is then complete wrapped in 100% cotton. So essentially when you touch the thread you only touch cotton.

The advantage of this manufacturing make up is that the polyester provides strength while the cotton protects the poly from heat when e.g. ironing. This ensure the thread remains strong and stable throughout the lifetime of the stitched item.

Empress Mills wind their own threads in the UK ensuring costs are kept to a minimum. They wind thread on to 1000m spools which ensures excellent value for money.

It is worth stressing these are 1000m spools produced in the UK.
