This mug showcases a section from our iconic "Rainbow Rag Rug" which featured on the front cover of my book, "Rag Rugs, Pillows & More" (you might say it was a celebrity in the world of rag rugs). It shows all the texture, fabrics and lumps & bumps that make this rag rug one off and unique - a lot of love went into making it which I'm sure comes across in the bright and beautiful mug itself.

What is rag rugging?

Rag rugging is an old British craft where people use hessian sacking and old clothing and fabric to make cosy rugs for the floor. It was incredibly widespread during Victorian times when lower income families embraced rag rugging as a way to make the most out of everything they had. They took the clothing that was no longer fit for purpose and worked their magic to make wonderful rugs for the cold, stone floors.
